Victim Identified For Saturday Motorcycle Crash On Route 2
Here's an update on Saturday's motorcycle crash on the "hairpin turn" on Route 2. From the Official Press Release by the Berkshire District Attorney's Office:
A Florida woman died in a motorcycle collision on Route 2 in North Adams on Saturday.
At approximately 5 p.m. Daryl Rougeau, 42, of Florida lost control of the 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was operating about one half-mile east of the Hairpin turn. His passenger, Kristin Rougeau, 38, of Florida died after being ejected from the motorcycle. EMS pronounced her dead on the scene.
EMS transported Daryl Rougeau to Berkshire Medical Center North. Hospital personnel treated his injuries and released him.
Berkshire State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, North Adams Police, Clarksburg Police, Massachusetts State Police Troop B, Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Service Section, and the Florida Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Westfield took custody of the body to perform an autopsy. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
