Is that Abe sitting at the counter at Joe’s Diner in Lee?  The photo taken Friday night looks a bit like the 16th President of the United States with a trimmed beard.  With all of the bizarre conspiracy theories circulating I believe this is indeed Abe Lincoln returned to the living to test the waters for a possible run in 2024 as an “Honest” candidate for the GOP.  Afterall he only served just over 4 years in office.  Or maybe he was just enjoying some spaghetti and meatballs at Joe’s.  Either way “Happy Presidents Day” Abe!

Abe Lincoln’s birth date falls in February and is often included under the “Presidents Day” umbrella.  Honest Abe was born on February 12th in 1809.  “Presidents Day” is a popular day for car dealers and mattress stores to use the holiday to sell cars and mattresses, often using the likenesses of George and Abe in their advertising campaigns.

Presidents Day falls on the third Monday in February and commemorates the birthday of George Washington.  George Washington was born on February 22 in 1832 but began being celebrated on the third Monday of February and named “Presidents Day” as part of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act in 1971 in an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the country’s workforce.

The name of Presidents Day is a bit confusing  There are 14 different variations on the name states use to to honor the holiday.  Washington's Birthday...Presidents Day... Lincoln/Washington/Presidents Day to name a few.
