Adams Gas Line Project Underway
Work began today in Adams on the installation of a new gas main along the southern section of Summer Street. The line will carry from the Cherry Street area to the intersection of Center Street (RT 116) according to a FB post on the Town of Adams page.
According the post the project includes replacing the existing gas main as well as the service lines serving the residents that are gas customers. The project is expected to extend well into summer.
Commuters can expect delays and detours during the project.
INSTALLATION OF NEW GAS MAIN ON SUMMER STREET
Staring Thursday May 21, 2020 workers will begin the installation of a new gas main along the southern section of Summer Street. It will run from the Cherry Street area to the intersection of Center Street (Rte#116). This project will consist of replacing the existing gas main and the service lines leading to residences that are gas customers. The project is expected to go well into the summer months. During this time expect delays and redirected routes of travel. The intent is to conduct the process with the least amount of inconvenience to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
