Adams Reserve Police Officer Position Available
The Town of Adams has a Reserve Police Officer position available on the Adams Police Department roster. In additional to a high school diploma, you must have completed the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council Basic/Reserve Academy, certified in CPR and First Responder, possess valid MA firearms License to Carry. In addition, you must also possess a valid Mass drivers license as well as other requirements listed below.

RESERVE POLICE OFFICER
The Town of Adams is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Reserve Police Officer for the Adams Police Department. This position performs general police work in the maintenance of law and order under the supervision of superior officers, rules, and regulations. Duties include the protection of life and property and the prevention and suppression of crime through the enforcement of pertinent laws and ordinances under strict confidentiality. Provides traffic enforcement, performs arrests when appropriate, patrols by foot or in a patrol car, investigates unusual conditions and crimes and provides reports orally and in writing. Assist staffing the police department’s communications center when requested, receive and handle all in-coming telephone calls, radio transmissions and personal requests from individuals that may enter the station. Must be able to operate automobiles, firearms, hand tools, and various office equipment. Frequent exposure to circumstances having the potential to endanger the public and personal safety. Requirements include high school graduation or equivalent, possesses a valid Massachusetts Class D motor vehicle license, successfully completed the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council Basic/Reserve Academy, certified in CPR and First Responder, possess valid MA firearms License to Carry. Successful candidates will have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; ability to enforce the law impartially and to make sound judgments under stressful situations; ability to deal with the general public in a diplomatic and effective manner; ability to become thoroughly familiar with pertinent laws and local ordinances. Must have skills in the use of a firearm and in the application of first aid procedures. Preference will be given to candidates living within 20 miles of Adams, Massachusetts.
