Folks who live at 246/248 Park Street in Bennington got an unexpected Suprise Yesterday, and one you really, really don't want. Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at approximately 12:35 pm Bennington Police, Bennington Fire Department, and Bennington Rescue were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash located at the intersection of Park Street and Count Street Bennington, Vermont. There was a report of a vehicle that ran into a residential home with injuries.

A 2003 Saturn Vue crashed into the side of 246/248 Park Street. The vehicle crashed into the north side of the residence which is located on County Street. The Saturn Vue was operated by Amber Butler, 27 of Bennington, Vermont.

She did have a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Luckily both Butler and the passenger received minor injuries and were evaluated by Bennington Rescue personnel at the scene, but declined further medical attention.

There were residents inside the home at the time of the crash but were not injured. A representative from the Town of Bennington Code Enforcement arrived on the scene to evaluate the structural damage to the residence. Unfortunately, it was determined that 248 Park Street was inhabitable as the result of damage caused by the crash. The damage caused structural integrity of the exterior wall and the first floor was comprised.

County Street from School Street to Park Street was closed for a short period of time while this crash was being investigated.
