Berkshire Pay It Forward, Providing Meals for Those Impacted by COVID-19

Community Meal Event scheduled for this Saturday, June 6th at the Home Depot, Wal-Mart entrance

It is with the deepest regret that we inform the Berkshire community that this will be our seventh and final meals give away. We have had tremendous success in supporting our community in need with free meals since the onset of this Covid-19 Pandemic.

We can’t thank the people enough who supported this fundraiser with their donations and willingness to volunteer. We would also like to thank The Berkshire Eagle, WUPE Radio and IBerkshires for helping us get the word out and Wohrle’s for working with us in procuring the meals.

With everyone’s support we were able to raise nearly $10,000.00 and provide 1900 meals to those in need. We couldn’t have done this without all of you! Your kindness and generosity have been overwhelming. We are all lucky to be part of this great Berkshire community. Thank you all.

The seventh and final pop up meals event will take place this Saturday, June 6th, 1:00 pm at the Home Depot, Wal-Mart entrance, 555 Hubbard Ave, Pittsfield. They will have prepackaged frozen meals, for a family of four, to hand out to families facing unemployment due to COVID-19 layoffs.

This week’s packaged meals will contain Hot dogs and Hamburgers, French Fries, and Dessert. Chef Brandon Horn will also be donating homemade BBQ Chicken and rice Soup. All meals are **FREE OF CHARGE** available on a first come first serve basis.

In order to maintain proper social distancing and safety protocol, meals will be prepackaged and ready for drive up pick up; all volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves.

Berkshire Pay It Forward is a committee of volunteers, formed by members of Local 12325 of the United Steelworkers Union, who have mobilized to support and provide nutritious meals to families who have been rendered unemployed by COVID-19 layoffs.
