It’s Heating Up in the Berkshires!

With the weekend forecast calling for mid-summer like weather, we’ll forget all about the washout the Berkshires experienced over the Memorial Day weekend. However, the National Weather Service has posted a Hazardous Weather Conditions warning as the heat level will be on the rise today through mid-week next week.

If you haven’t already, it’s time to put the air conditioners in the windows with sunny skies and temps in the upper 80s predicted for Berkshire County both Saturday and Sunday. The long-range forecast is also calling for the heat and humidity to continue at least until Wednesday.

Make sure you are check on the seniors in your life on a regular basis and do not leave your children or dogs in the car. Just a few minutes in a hot car, even with the windows down, can lead to death. Drink plenty of water (beer is not a substitute) to keep yourself hydrated.

A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. West wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight

A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm, then a slight chance of showers between 7pm and 9pm. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday

Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Light southwest wind becoming west 8 to 13 mph in the morning.
