North Adams & Pittsfield Airports $30-K in Grants

Both the North Adams Airport and the Pittsfield Municipal Airport will receive a grant of $30,000 from the Federal Aviation Commission according to an article posted on iBerkshires.com.

The article states that the Airport Commission accepted a Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act grant to help with the cost of operating the airports.

According the iBerkshires, the allocation to the two Berkshire airports is part of $10 billion set aside for general aviation airports to support operations and lost revenue lost during the pandemic.

The funds can be used for operating expenses such as payroll, utilities, capital expenditures as well as dept.  The amount of the grant was based on the airports size, type and volume of passenger traffic.

For a scale of grant money allocated, North Adams and Pittsfield airports will receive $30,000 in relation to Logan International Airport in Boston will receive $141,340,992.
