Planning a day trip or local vacation…these links will help…
With the continued threat of Covid-19, we are all adjusting how we approach our daily routine. Now that summer has arrived and with it the need to unwind from the madness, what to do about a family vacation has certainly entered our minds. For many the idea of getting on a crowded airplane is out of the question. We are certainly blessed living in such a naturally rich state of Massachusetts.
The Mass Regional Tourism Council is set to promote a state-wide campaign “With Love From” that highlights the different regions of Massachusetts perfect for day trips or week-long exploring.
According to a press release by the RTC, a recent traveler surveys show that people will travel close to home and will look for accommodations, dining and activities outdoors that are attesting to safety guidelines. Travel and tourism is one of Massachusetts' key industries, accounting for nearly $24.2 billion in direct spending in 2018 and generating $1.6 billion in state and local taxes. The industry supports 153,200 jobs across the state and $5.6 billion in wages. This sector has suffered the largest job loss during the pandemic, touching every part of the state. The “With Love From" campaign reminds Mass residents that the travel industry is open and safely caring for guests, and that its family and neighbors who work in the tourism industry are looking forward to going back to work.
