State Police Bust 2 in Western Mass for Large Quantity of Drugs, Ammo and Firearm

Mass State Police busted two Western Mass men in possession a large amount drugs, a loaded firearm and ammo. According to a post on the Mass State Police Facebook page, Last night Trooper Justin Dauplaise witnessed 30-year-old Christopher Reyes of Springfield blow through a red light in Springfield just before 7pm. After being pulled over it was determined that Reyyes did not have a driver’s license. His passenger, 24-year-old Raven Sullivan, from Springfield also did not have a valid license.

With additional backup, during the process of inventorying the vehicle prior to towing, Troopers discovered a loaded Shadow Systems 9mm pistol with 13 rounds of ammo under the driver’s seat. Neither Reyes or Sullivan has a license to carry. Additional ammunition and bags including 50 grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine, numerous bags containing 500 pills believed to be oxycodone, a substance being tested for PCP and a large amount of cash.

Both Reyes and Sullivan were placed under arrest, Ryes has been charged with 12 charges and Sullivan faces 9 charges. Bail for Reyes was set at $100,000 and Sullivan bail was set at $25,000. Troopers Arrest Two with Firearm while Trafficking Narcotics

Shortly before 7 p.m. yesterday Trooper Justin Dauplaise, assigned to the Troop B Community Action Team, was on patrol in Springfield. While stopped at a red traffic signal at the intersection of State and Main Streets he observed a black Dodge Charger travel through a red signal. Trooper Dauplaise activated his emergency lights and caught up to the Dodge then initiated a motor vehicle stop.

After the vehicle came to a full stop Trooper Dauplaise approached it and identified the operator as CHRISTOPHER REYES, 30, of Springfield. Trooper Dauplaise informed REYES why he was stopped then gathered the rental contract for the vehicle. It was discovered on scene that REYES did not possess a driver’s license. The passenger, RAVEN SULLIVAN, 24, of Springfield, also did not possess a driver’s license. Trooper Dauplaise requested a tow truck to respond at which point additional cruisers arrived on scene to assist.

Troopers removed both occupants in order to conduct an inventory of the vehicle’s contents prior to it being towed from the scene. As REYES exited the vehicle Troopers noticed a large amount of cash protruding from his pocket. They also noticed a black soft case sitting on the floor area where SULLIVAN was seated when she stepped out. The case had the name “Shadow Systems,” a manufacturer of firearms, printed on the front. During the inventory Trooper Dauplaise discovered a Shadow Systems 9mm pistol, loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition, sitting in view under the driver’s seat. Neither occupant possessed a license to carry firearms and were subsequently placed under arrest. Troopers also located additional 9mm ammunition, numerous bags containing more than 50 grams of a substance suspected to be crack cocaine, numerous bags containing approximately 500 pills suspected to be oxycodone, several bags of a substance suspected to be PCP, and a large amount of cash.

REYES and SULLIVAN were transported to State Police-Springfield for booking. A bail commissioner was contacted and set bail at $100,000 for REYES and $25,000 for SULLIVAN. They were scheduled for arraignment at Springfield District Court on the following charges.
