Two Male Juveniles Nabbed On Drugs & Weapons Charges
Once again, it's Pittsfield Police to the rescue! I believe it was the great character actor Micheal K. Williams who observed, "No one wakes up one day and decides they want to become a drug dealer or they want to be a stick-up kid. Those decisions are made after a series of events have happened in one's life."
According to a statement issued by the Pittsfield Police Department, yesterday afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m. it was reported to the PPD that a male party was in possession of a gun at a residence on Francis Avenue in Pittsfield.
After Patrol Officers arrived, they conducted an investigation. The determination was made that three males had fled the location and had been engaging in suspicious activity as they traveled on foot through various nearby properties.
Subsequently, two juvenile males that matched witness descriptions were detained by Patrol Officers. A search was then performed of the area and eventually, police recovered a couple of firearms and some illegal narcotics which was tied to the juveniles who earlier had fled the scene.
At this point, both suspects were then arrested on the following charges:
- Possession to Distribute Class B Drug
- Receiving Stolen Property
- Possession of Ammunition Without FID Card
- Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device, and
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
The youths are scheduled to be arraigned today through Central Berkshire District Court. Props to the Pittsfield Patrol Officers and special shout-outs to those who helped out with the investigation including members of the Pittsfield Police Detective Bureau, Crime Scene Unit, and the K-9 Unit.
