On Tuesday 7/7/2020 members of the Pittsfield Police Department (PPD) responded to a shooting incident on Kent Avenue.

A Pittsfield woman had been shot and sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The following day PPD investigators applied for and received an arrest warrant charging 29 year old Springfield resident Myron Crapps with Assault and Battery by Discharge of a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.

On Monday 7/13/2020 Crapps was arrested in Springfield MA by members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), Hamden County Sherriff’s Department Warrant Apprehension Unit, and Springfield Police Department Narcotics Unit.

The Pittsfield Police Department would like to thank all of the involved agencies, including the Berkshire County Sherriff’s Department, who assisted with this investigation.
