Whoopee's signal on 103.3 that serves Pittsfield and the surrounding area went off the air early this morning as Eversource cut power to update the electrical system at the Holiday Inn in Pittsfield.  WUPE’s antenna system is on the roof on the hotel and is affected by the power shutdown.

According to a hotel spokesperson, the work by Eversource is being done in stages.  Although you might hear 103.3 back on the air currently, the hotel is expecting additional power shutdowns throughout the day and night.

In the case of 103.3 losing power, you can still listen to Whoopee in the Pittsfield area and all over the world through the WUPE App, online at www.wupe.com, through your smart speaker device and on the AM dial at 1110AM.

If you haven’t already downloaded the Whoopee App it is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.  Search for WUPE, download the App and enjoy your favorite Classic Hits wherever you are.

The Eversource project will not affect the WUPE signal on 100.1 in North Adams.
