Your Children May Be Eligible For A P-EBT Benefits
Your children may be eligible to receive a P-EBT card (Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer card) with $5.70 of SNAP benefits per student per day of school closure.
The P-EBT program provides additional food support for students who would have received free or reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch Program if not for the school closures from COVID-19.
Families receiving DTA benefits will get their benefits on their existing EBT card. Families not currently receiving DTA benefits will be mailed a new P-EBT card.
This includes any student in a school that provides free meals to all students. Families will get $5.70 per student per day for every day school is closed to buy food.
You will soon receive a letter in the mail from the Department of Transitional Assistance
(DTA).
Important!!
Keep this letter and/or write down the case number located in the upper right-hand corner until you receive the P-EBT card!
In a second mailing from DTA, you will receive your P-EBT card. On the back of this card is a number to call to create a PIN # before you can use your P-EBT card. You will have to provide both the case number in the first mailing and the date of birth of your child to create this pin.
