Because of the global pandemic, local food banks are in desperate need of help.  The Dalton Community Recreational Association has stepped up to the plate and organized a food drive that is scheduled for this Saturday May 2nd (rain or shine).

The food drive has been dubbed “Fishing for Food” in connection with their Earl B. Crosier Fishing Derby, which has been postponed until September.

The CRA is encouraging the community to drop off canned goods or non-perishable food items on the curb of the Community House located at 400 Main Street in Dalton between 9 am and 1 pm.  To adhere to social distancing, once you drop off your donation and return to your car, a volunteer will collect your donation.

There is no donation too small or too large.  Your donation will help your neighbors in need by replenishing the shelves at the St. Agnes and the United Methodist Church Food Banks.

For more information you can contact the CRA at 684-0260.
