Community organization Hoosac Harvest has announced its annual seedling swap will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 30, 2020, in Mass MoCA’s main parking lot., North Adams, Mass.

Community members are invited to wear masks and gloves, keep your Social Distance and bring seedlings to swap, or to come without seedlings and just choose offerings for their spring gardens.

All seedlings are free--you don’t need to bring some to swap to take some home. Donations to Hoosac Harvest are encouraged. We will be more spread out to adjust for social distancing.

Disposable gloves will be available if you forget them and a few small pots will be available to re-pot if needed. Whether you’re dropping off seedlings to swap or coming to browse, it’s a good idea to bring a tray in which to collect your new plant babies.

Seedlings to share can be extra vegetables or flowers that you bought or grew and can even be cuttings or plants that you have too many of in your yard.

Bring and share what you can.

All donations go toward subsidizing CSA shares weekly “shares” of a local farmer’s produce over the course of an annual growing season for people in our community.

CSA shareholders receive a weekly, reasonable amount of seasonal vegetables, enough for two adults with one to two children, or two veggie lovers.

Most farm CSA shares are full for this season, but contact Hoosac Harvest via kathykeeser@gmail.com for more information.
