North Adams Mayor Tom Bernard has announced that he will seek re-election this Fall.

In a media release today, Bernard said: "I look forward to working with the residents of North Adams as we continue to build our shared future on a foundation of economic development, community revitalization, and sustainability."

When taking the oath of office for his first term in 2018 Bernard said he was "inspired by the new energy and new ideas" that he felt would build on what he called the city's "rich heritage of creativity and innovation." In today's announcement, Bernard said "This commitment to service has guided my work to date and will mark my course as I continue to serve the smallest city in our incredible Commonwealth. I look forward to building on the strong foundation my team and I established with the support of so many in our community", he concluded.

Bernard will formally kick off his re-election campaign at an event on Thursday, June 13 at 5:30 P.M. at the Holiday Inn Berkshires on Main Street.
