With frigid temperatures expected today 12/19, the City of Pittsfield has designated the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center, 330 North St., as the official warming center for those who may need some relief from the cold.

The center opened at 8 am this morning and will stay open until 8 p.m.Tonight. The onsite café will have hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as snacks. Breakfast and lunch will also be available.

To arrange free transportation, please call the Senior Center at 499-9346. An additional refuge from the cold will be the Berkshire Athenaeum, 1 Wendell Ave., which will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
