One of the questions I’ve heard locals ask Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer over and over is “when is Pittsfield going to repave the roads.”  Every New England municipality faces the same issue.  The drastic temperature changes over four seasons, the use of salt, sand and city plows during the winter reeks havoc on our roadways.

Pittsfield is among many Berkshire cities and towns that are at the beginning stage of their road paving projects.  Lee began work this week on Rt 20 and Adams has a major gas main project underway affecting traffic patterns in Adams.  The Mass DOT is overseeing a major repaving and guardrail replacement project on the Mass Pike.

No specific schedule of road paving is available but a list of those roads to be repave is listed below.
